How do I pressurize a Single Turbo system? (check for boost leaks)
I am assuming that i just plug up the intake port on the single turbo, and hook up an air pump to one of the nipples and just pump until I reach a desired presure level and see if it leaks? But even if I do that, the air will escape via the exhaust. So I am not sure how I am supposed to do it..
If anyone has any instructions, please throw them my way. I figure there are not many lines to check... so it should be a lot easier.
Thanks

Cap the intake side of the turbo and run a pressure source to the upper manifold or better if you have a nipple on one of the intercooler pipes. Start pressurizing the system and listen for any leaks.

the way i did it on my talon when i owned it, was i took the intake off, and put a special coupler on the turbo inlet with a special fitting to accept and air hose, then i would pressurize the system to my desire..usually how much boost i was running and i would spray some soapy water around my couplers and anything else that holds air.

I blew the first one due to old age, the 2nd due to stupidity, the 3rd from lack of a tune (but I haven't been boosting it cause boost doesn't work).
Anyway, I need to find the boost leak, and I also need to make sure it isn't blown. Lets just hope for the best.

My turbo inlet is 4" so its harder to find a cheapass coupler that'll do that. I just need to cap the intake, I have a nipple on the intercooler pipe though.
2A+Ron - Yeah just got it in there.
Johnrxt2 - 17k on engine, crappy *** idle. Won't idle at 900-1000RPM, sounds like it's pinging. Read this thread:

That has my post about the engine problem
