Holset HT60?

All right, I'll admit it, it was really cheap so I went for it without doing too much research. Anyone have any idea how big it is compared to the common Garrett turbos, and ever hear of it being run on a rotary of any sort?

I've heard of an HX-60 on a 20B powered 3rd Gen RX-7. Never seen or heard of an HT60. Not doubting that there is one though. Good luck on it.

Actually found a map, albeit a pretty poor one. Looks like it's around T76 sized in terms of flow, maybe a bit bigger... HT being a little smaller than the HX turbos.

Guess I'll see if I can make it spool... hell, price was right.

Just an update... turbo came. No damage, spins freely, no shaft play, etc.

Yeah, it's kind of a big turbo.

Whoa. In my opinion, that is way, way too big for a 2 rotor street car .

You do realize holsets are efficient at very high pressure ratios (for a rotary especially) right?

These things do great on piston engines with shitty head flow (ford's 2.3turbo comes to mind) and to use it on a rotary efffectively you might want to consider a restrictor inside your intake somewhere.

And yes Im serious, lol.

EDIT: actually, just try a unported motor... and get a big FMIC.

GoodfellaFD3S: Oooh boy do I ever agree. I won't go into details about my plans for it (as there's a lot of other stuff that has to come together, and I don't want to look like an *** if it doesn't) but suffice to say it's not for a street car.

Nihilanthic: Yeah, most Holsets are... but most Holsets that the 2.3 Ford people are playing with are HX35s. Like I said, I found a map for this, and from the map it really is pretty similar to the normal (well, if you call a T76 normal) Garrett turbos... airflow is waaaay beyond stockport levels. Lost the thing with a hard drive crash, unfortunately, but suffice to say that the efficiency plateau at 1atm boost went from something like 50-70lb/min airflow.

Good luck wth it man. It is a big one. My mechanic has an HX-50 on his car and it runs great. I'm guessing that the HX-50 and HT-60 are close to the same size.

Quickie research says the HT60 has about 40% more choke flow. Eesh.
