HKS T51R Turbo kit

I'm about to go with a single turbo for my rx7 and I was thinking about the HKS T51R. I was wondering if anyone had any information on how fast spool up is and top HP. I heard about 475RWHP

What are your goals for the car? A T51 is going to go on something with a BIG port job, expecting lots of power (lots lots lots more than 475 rwhp. This will come at the expense of boost response.

Let us know what your setup is / what you're building the car for.

A T04 can make that amount of HP. T51s will be able to make 600+HP on a properly built motor

Mate, a T51R even in the HKS derivative is an awsome power turbo......

Expect huge potential, if your systems up to it no reason why you can't realize 700+rwhp from this turbo with little worries, spool up from 5.5k to 9k is perfect

But seriously it's a big turbine section it needs a few revs on board with a 2.6lt engine to get it going expect delayed responce below 4.5k rpm, to add to the comments above you realy want to be aiming for BIG power to justify this turbo if you want around 450rwhp to 500rwhp a TO4 frame with a T66 comp wheel would be a better pick while still giving you the option to squeeze out over 500rwhp later on.

Otherwise pick a smaller turbo (TO4S = cheap & excellent power, I did 472rwhp on this one) or gt35/40 (expensive but more low end with same top end power potential as TO4S)

Remember T51 = extreme power if used to it's designed potentail otherwise it is a waste of money if you only want < 500rwhp.
