hks cast manifold and TO4S or TO4R
hi,
i am about to purchase a gt3574 and i need to know if i will have fitments issues with the hks cast mani.
the turbo is from aspec and has a larger 74mm wheel with a t4 housing.
aspec sayes that if a TO4S or TO4R fits than i will be fine.
i do not know thw dimensions of the TO4S or TO4R so i need your help!!
thanks!!

arghx,what is the p trim?
also, many gt35r are ordered with a t4 housing, same the 3574. my question is: why to kake a T3 turbo and convert it to T4 instead purchasing a T4 from the bigining (like t04s-r-z...) ?
thanks

The GT35R w/ T4 housing fits fine on the HKS manifold. (TO4S/R/Z all fit fine as well)
I do not know what you mean by larger 74mm wheel. The standard GT3582 is a 82mm compressor wheel. It can be purchased with several different types ot T3 or T4 turbine housings ATP GT35R
The TO4Z is a 84mm wheel ATP TO4Z
Here is a customers FD with the 35R on an HKS cast manifold, as you can see there is plenty of room to spare

That is funny, considering every other Garrett turbo on the market numbering is based off the compressor size
GT3582R (aka GT35R, aka GT35/40R)= 82mm comp wheel
GT4088R (aka GT40R)= 88mm comp wheel
GT4294R/GT4202R (aka GT42R / GT42RS)= 94mm/102mm comp wheel
And the list goes on forever just like that
So as you can see a 3574 = 74mm turbine is as *** backward as you can get, literally
Hope that clears things up

Ahhhh yes..... but precision goes 6062, 6765 and 7682 etc... but that is a precision turbo and not a garrett turbo. Borg warner is even different still. At that point one must conclude a 3574 is also not bound by garrett nomenclature since it is not made by Garrett. I'm sure you'll cut me some slack since were all one big happy turbo family.

This does fit but I found it to be rather a close fit on the cold side maybe 1/2 clearance with the rail. Also this manifold is a pain in that it uses M10 * 1.25 threaded on the turbine flange side., although it is relatively easy to find bolts for this size finding studs and nuts I have found to be nearly impossible (to use safety wire).

i am planing to install the mani and the 3574 without removing the engine from the car. is it posible?
thanks

The HKS cast manifold comes with a T4 divided flange. It would be best to get a T4 divided turbine housing to match.
Also the rotary engine creates alot of exhaust energy so it is ok to use a larger AR. like a .96, 1.0+. This is what I have heard from ATP.
Also the HKS T04Z starts life as a garret T04Z if anybody was wondring.
Achilles, yes it is possible to install it on the car without pulling the engine. But the HKS cast manifold wastegate flange I believ is a T-25. HKS discontinued the wastegate that we used to sell the was a direct bolt on. I sell the HKS racing wastegate with the kit now and I had to make an adapter fitting to use the new wastegate. The HKS manifold wastegate flange is rectangular. The HKS wastegate flange is square.
I bolt on the wastegate to the manifold and then put the manifold with wastegate attached onto the engine, then the turbo to the manifold. Make sure everything lines up including your downpipe before you tighten all the bolts.
