HKS cast manifold???

The HKS FD manifold....

I've searched and can't find any conclusive opinions one way or the other. They seem to be fairly well designed. But all the pics I see are small. Any consensus on these? Will they easily flow enough to support, let's say, 450 whp? Are they designed to provide enough clearance for, let's say, a 1.00 hotside and a 62-1 compressor?

Also, the XS Engineering manifold looks to be a direct knock-off. I have spoken with one guy that said he had some boost creep issues that he attributed to that manifolds wastegate runners. Any real difference between these manifolds? Any merit to what this guy has to say?

Thanks!

We just put the cast HKS on mr_ouija on heres car. 93 FD he is currently running my t67 on a .96 undivided hot side. boost starts at 3000 and full boost is seen at 3800. This is w/ a mild street port intake and a decent sized exhaust port. I might have the pics of those. All in all I think it is a very solide piece. Long runner is probably better but cost and life span are pretty important to a few.

So to answer your question I say go for it.

He wanted to run a Tial wastegate so we made an adapter.

Here is the thread in a local forum.

Yea, a note that I didn't see mentioned, for the HKS wastegates, you'll need an adapter too. The HKS Cast Manifold has the Rectangular flange as opposed to the newer Square Flange. HKS no longer makes Rectangular Flanged 50mm Wastegates AFAIK.

My adapter can be seen installed here and if you need a description, I'll gladly give ya one. =)

hopefully you guys got some sort of heat wrap or something around that hose on the wastegate.

you could also do this. it's an ssac manifold that I had ceramic coated and had a TiAl wg flange welded on.

Thanks for the pics guys. That helps a lot. Not worried about the wastegate adapter. Ive made several before for HKS FC manifolds (that's what you have there hondahater?). Mostly what I'm concerned with is clearance (looks to be fine from the pics) and performance. More opinions?

yeah thats an fc manifold with a TiAl 40mm wg flange welded on. I also had a peice of stainless welded inbetween the flange and the mani for support.
