hi-fi 60-1 vs normal 60-1 wheel

quick question.. what is the difference between a 60-1 compressor wheel and the hi-fi 60-1 wheel? do they use the same wheel? If i bought a standard 60-1 wheel would it fit in my T04B hi-fi housing?

the difference is the compressor housing, they use the same compressor wheel, but the Hi-Fi has a smaller housing with a tiny discharge on it. Yes, a 60-1 wheel will fit in any 60-1 compressor housing

WTF is a 60-1 compressor housing? You mean a 0.6 a/r T04B compressor housing (2.75 in inlet, 2 in outlet), right?

Standard compressor housing for the 60-1 is a T04S front cover. It has a 4" inlet and 2.5" disscharge and an .7 A/R value. The 60-1 HiFi uses a T04B compressor housing 2.75~3" inlet and a 2" disscharge with an A/R of .6. The HiFi version flows 5 to 10% LESS then the T04s style housings. Both compressor are the same aero and inducer/exducer sizes, but I thought the 60-1 HiFi had a slightly different cut profile on the back side of the compressor wheel to accomodate the smaller T04B style backplate needed for the T04B front cover. I'm not 100% sure but I think there is a little machining done to the HiFi wheels. Best to ask your parts supplier while ordering. I know they have seperate part numbers just for the compressor wheel itself [60-1 HI-FI part# 20230], [60-1 {T04S style} part # 20177], [62-1 part# 20255].
