help me out with my new turbo.

I just picked up a used T04E .50 Compressor & .84 Exhaust with an internal wastgate.

What kinda power do you think this thing will make @15Psi? it will be on a car with a very mild streetport & 9:1 compression rotors.

I know it is a little small but i got it for such a good price i couldn't pass it up.

Also can anyone recomend a manifold????? or should i just get one made? Remember it has a internal wastegate..

Thanks,
-Zach

bump, anyone? Also anyone think the wastegate will have problems with boost creep?

Thanks,
-Zach

The numbers are meaningless unless you give us the size of your compressor wheel.

Remember, the important numbers are:
1) Compressor wheel type/size (compressor housing A/R is useless)
2) Turbine A/R
3) Turbine wheel type/size

Nothing.

You need to pop the top off the compressor housing and measure the compressor wheel.

Well, the compressor wheel would be 2.950, or that is what i thought..

Thanks,

You need to measure the inducer "INDUCER"(top/smaller) diameter and the exducer "MAJOR"(bottom/wider) diameter.

Click here:&nbsp http://www.turboneticsinc.com/catalog/comp_wheels.html

Scroll down to the T04E section and compare the numbers.&nbsp Once you know what compressor wheel you have, we can all give you a better idea of power potential...

You, my friend, have a T04E with a 54 trim compressor wheel.

Looking at the compressor map, the turbo is good for 30psi of boost.
It's best efficiency is under 15psi though.
It's a little too small for the 13B (even with stock ports), but it should pull nicely above 15psi.

What this all means is that it's not very efficient under 15psi, but it makes nice power over 15psi.&nbsp Estimated power output is about 400hp or a little over that, but we're talking serious boost like 25psi.

It's a tad too small for a ported 13B motor, but it'll still work...
This turbo should easily make 300-350hp without breaking a sweat.

Compressor map at:&nbsp http://www.turboneticsinc.com/comp_maps/fig14.html

Thanks, That is what i was aiming for.

If i put on a larger compressor housing it would flow more air, right? Should i maybe in the future look into doing this?

Since the turbo will boost upto 30Psi, Where should i aim for on pump gas? 93 octane..

Thanks,
-Zach

Yes, that 60 trim is a nice turbo for a 13B...

Good point.&nbsp I wouldn't try and boost over 20psi on pump gas octanes...

Thanks ted..

BTW, could i go with a t04B 60-1 compressor housing? Would that work?

These usually are only ~$275 right?

Thanks,

BTW i just tracked the turbo back.. it is actually from an HKS kit for the RX-7.. Kinda funny if it is a little small for the engine

Yeah, the 60-1 will work also.
It's ~$300 for the parts, but I don't recommend rebuild one yourself unless you have the proper balancing equipment?

Damn, I always wanted to know what size those things were!
Yeah, those HKS kits were designed for stock ports.
