Help me identify this Apex ihi turbo!!

hi i have an IHI turbo with the serial number of RHX6 14038C. could anyone give me information on this particular turbo like all the specs and such. I know these arent very common in the US, but thats about all i know. Its pretty big and i know it fits on MR2s, rx7s and maybe supras, but other than that im pretty clueless.

I got it as a part of a trade a long time ago and now i need to sell it but have no clue what the specs are or how much i should sell it for. any help is appreciated, maybe a link to a specs page or something! thanks!

I'm no expert, but I'd imagine that's an Apexi RX6 turbo, which is one of the best street turbos availible for the RX-7.

They make around 400whp and spool almost as fast as the stock twins.

It is the Apexi kit turbo. I just sold mine. I had the P27F housing on mine. Inducer was 2.25 inches and exducer was 3.25 inches on the compressor side.

Heres my thread with pics of it opened up.

Your inlet is a little different though...

Definitely A'PEXi RX6. Not sure if it is the "76" or the "77", but my 2000-2001 A'PEXi catalog lists the compressor inducer at 56mm for the 76 model and 61mm for the 77 model. The extra velocity stack thing that fits around the compressor inlet is missing, but that shouldn't really matter much. I think this is what TEDDER1 is referring to, but you can see in his pics that the velocity stack is a separate piece held onto the compressor housing by a set screw.

You should remove the turbine housing and check the turbine blades for damage. The turbo looks brand new, and so is probably not damaged, but it would be a smart move to check first before you sell it (so the buyer can't clean and swap a bad one and claim it was damaged). You won't be able to see any damage until you remove the turbine housing. The turbo is generally not rebuildable, but TEC was able to trim the turbine on mine to remove some damage. If there's no damage, you should be able to find someone with the rest of an RX6 turbo kit that really wants a new (undamaged) turbo for it.

Depending on the story behind this turbo, as well as asking price, I'd be a potential buyer.
