haltech tuning

For those of you with haltech and single turbo:

please post your setup and a general description of what both your ignition and fuel map looks like or what you think a good baseline would be to run. For example if for fuel you run 3.5ms @ bar 12 linearly to 7.5ms at bar 32 on 1600cc injectors @ 40 psi base pressure and have a t78, that would be helpful to me.

I am trying to create a baseline map for my T61.

Is it possible to put too much fuel in there and have the excess remain on the rotor face and cause itself to self-ignite (pre-detonate) from simply the heat of the engine?? if not that way, maybe it could create a dual flame front which would cause the same problem...yes? no? maybe i am thinking too hard about this?

is there any way to post the haltech map files to the forum?? I dont see .6km as a valid file extension below so i doubt it.

Thanks,

what size are your primary injectors? 550?

there is a base map for a 60-1 streetport on running 550/1600s on ricemobile.net

or this link http://www.ricemobile.net/haltech/T-60.zip

i tried this map in my car, but had to richen up some of the lower vacum to get it to start.

I am using a diff map right now that works pretty good to drive around on. It is not tuned to run under boost right now tho. still breaking in motor.

I would have to look at my map to see what the injector ms is at the ranges you say.

if you have to much fuel you will probably see some black smoke out the tail pipe or if you have a egt gauge you could tell probably as well.

i have the t60-1 and t66 maps from ricemobile (styk33)

The map i started to make was based upon his t66 map, but richened up and retarted.

I got ahold of Dewain Thomas who is selling his car and also running a T61 on haltech.....he says he will send me some maps soon so i can go from those and see how far i would have been off.

gordon....i will send you an email - always good to look at different maps especially since i am trying to see how different people time the car and use some of the different settings.

I found most of the maps that are out there are reallly on the super rich side of things, which is not bad for starting from..
You just have to double check all the settings and options before running it, there are some 2 bar maps floating around, and some with the ignition setup in an odd manner..
I have a T04e s4 with 1600's if you need a look see at the map, I am revising the map heavily right now, I got my Wideband installed last night, so I got a real good look at how overly rich my map was, it was scary how over rich it was, at 10 psi + it was 9.8-10.2:1... and no car needs to cruise at 11.5:1...Max

Maxthe7man, i would be interested in looking at your map to compare mine as well.

let me know if you could send it. I hope to get a hold of a wideband soon.

Thanks, James

I'll have to go out to the car and move it to a 3.5" disk to my desktop machine from the laptop for you, its about halfways leaned out right now.. A little more work and it'll be pretty close. and safe to 18 psi..Max
