I dont think running a locked timing is good on the T application. your target timing area is small and you otherwise would be out of optimum timing verywhere else in the boost and RPM. However , CarTech had setup for stock 1st gen and you may want to look around on how the timing went on that setup. I think most people have a vacume source to signal that retards timing based on boost.
Talk to Rick at PRMotorsports (Hayward) across the bay or (walnutcreek?)Brian Richards at M2.

thats definitly your timing too much retard. im using dizzy also on my fc3s although the dizzy is 12a turbo dizzy so comes with boost retard. you should set you timing for max boost seting i gues what ever that is?
i just play it by ear no timimg light. try advancing and see what happens. sometimes when you install the dizzy it can mis a tooth on the gear and slide back a tooth to retard. if this happens it is enough to glow a turbo like that.

You may just have a bad boost leak and be over spooling the hell out of your turbo.
