Oil and water cooled turbo. What will happen if i only run the oil lines and not water? Has anyone done it before?

If it's designed for both, use both. Why risk it?

If you don't run the water if you blow the oil seal prematurely Garrett will not waranty it. I had a friend blow 3 35r's on a drift car and Garrett said they would have replaced the chra otherwise. Run the water, stop being lazy lol.

I had an email from HKS about my T51r SPL nd they said they only really reccomend the water cooling for drag racing, but it doesnt hurt to run it all the time.

I would have thought circuit racing would be worse as its a longer duration that you will be boosting.

Just tap into the cooling system. There's a rotary coolant flow chart around here somewhere.

Run the water too. Oil/water cooled turbos run a restrictor in the oil feed because they don't need as much oil running through them(like an oil cooled turbo) since they are water cooled also. Def. do not run without the water.
