GT40 Vs. GT40R

Is there a big difference between the two turbos? I know that one is a BB and the other isn't. But how much of a difference is there? Is it worth the extra $700?

$700.00 quicker

It will probably be anywhere from 400-1000 rpm's sooner. i would take it, wouldnt want to be thinking of why i didnt when im waiting for that boost to come on.

Besides that, ball bearing units are much more robust and durable than their journal bearing counterparts.

I've got the GT4088 and it might spool at 4400 but it has more airflow than the gt40r. not sure bout the gt40

how does it have more airflow than the 40R? I was under the impression the 40R uses the GT4088 wheels...

yeah... but which one is faster, sure it spools quicker but because the air flow is larger on the other??? i suppose it depends on the setup of your car but i think rotarys perform better with the R series simply because they need to hit that higher boost at a lower rpm.
