GT35R Bent Fins - Advice -
Guys,
Just bought this used GT35R and found this issue...

Looks by the white mark like it was balanced, should I change the compressor wheel ?? Rebalance ?? Or just install as is because it won´t affect performance??
Appreciate your feedback.
Thanks..!

Doing some research at other forums tuners agree it is still 100% functional, wonder if it worth it to service it....
Does the white mark on the bent fin reflects a balance service ??
Thanks for the feedback guys !!

If shaft play is fine, just buy a new wheel from any online vendor or reputable ebay store and swap it yourself. The nut on the front of the compressor is likely LEFT hand threaded so be careful removing it and add a drop of red loctite when retightening. I bent the compressor wheel on my Holset and I replaced it with a cast OE wheel I bought on ebay for $40. The comp I bough was individually balanced, as it the factory compressor and turbine wheel. Do your homework first, but a wheel like http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Garrett-GT3582R-Compressor-wheel-/181465463821?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a402f3c0d&vxp=mtrone should work fine for you.
Anything spinning at 100k or more and suggesting its ok, really? Balance issues as well as material integrity should be brought into question as it is cast aluminum that has been yielded. Possible outcome is only bits of aluminum running through your engine.

Ok,
So the Billet Wheel + Seals + Balance = $700 + Freight (estimated)
New OEM CHRA (Plug & Play)= $850 + Freight (estimated)
CHRA Trade (is program still alive ??)= $400 + Freight
Decisions time....

Exactly, especially since it is the compressor wheel, if it fails the parts go through your engine. Not worth the risk.
Or send to Forced Peformance
Forced Performance Turbochargers: Turbo Upgrades
and have the HTA compressor wheel installed which is better than the GTX wheel.
