Is this a common thing, and what might be an economical way to resolve it?
Have a very small oil leak (Absolutely want to solve the issue) that over time builds up on the floor, and looking for ideas how to resolve the issue.
Is a cold side oil leak a “common” issue at all, and specifically through the cold side housing? There is a light film ring all the way around on the intermediate section propagating from the cold side, and I can see a oil drip on the lowest bolt that secures the housing to the back plate.
Is there any prescribed resolution to this issue? Hopefully economical in nature?
Is a flexible gasket material an option to allow any oil that escapes into the cold side to only flow into the intake and burn off what I think/hope are just a few drops?
Pretty certain it is the turbo cold side, as that is where ANY film is emanating from, and it is completely “intermittent” it will Only drip immediately after use then stop.
There is also a turbo drain below the center section, but I can’t see any direct evidence any oil is coming from any gasket surface or hose coupling on the oil drain.
I do have a DIY “Pill” I made for my turbo oil line feed, it was a complete guess on orifice size, as previously when boosting hard it would puff a small amount of smoke since new on this turbo, I assumed it was because of too much oil pressure… seems like it is a internal seal to block oil from entering into the cold side that was the root cause of that issue?
Just looking for advice and possible resolutions if anyone has first hand knowledge of an issue like this?
The best photo I can get to help define the problem is just the film ring propagating from the cold side, I believe the oil is being pushed through the interface between the intermediate section and the back plate for the housing that is held in with the large C clip. The oil builds up and collects at the bottom of the cold side housing, and drips onto ancillary equipment below and onto the ground...I think.

My guess would be the restrictor that you installed is not small enough and you are introducing too much oil into the CHRA. Give Ryan or Kirk a call at Boost Lab in Tampa FL and they will get you squared away.
