gt3040r or gt3540r...?
well found a place for the t3 manifold..... now looking for a fast spooling single, the person who wants this setup wants instant responce, and looking for around 375 whp max. i know the rx6 is the fastest spooling single, but i sold mine by the time he was looking for one. i told him maybe the gt3040r with a 1.06 a/r will be a close setup to an rx6 since it has a smaller exhaust side. i have seen some dyno sheets with the gt3540r and a .84 exhaust side, and it falls off too hard after 7k rpms. my rx6 didnt fall of that bad, it had a smaller turbine wheel and housing but was a 1.06 a/r. just looking to get some imput...

You can find all kinds of info on the 3540r, just do a search. The spool is nuts. I was in GuitarJunkie's car and he was in third... he tapped on the throttle and I was INSTANTLY thrown back... it's like there wasn't a single bit of lag at all.... pretty nice power.

If it was me, GT35R all the way. It will be very responsive and get to your goal on pump gas, actually it will be higher than your goal. I run the 3040R on my jdm 2.0 sti motor (wrx) and even though it is suited for a high revving engine I think you will be happier with the 35R. The 3040R uses a 35R compressor side with a 30R hotside. On pump I am seeing 400whp and race gas around 475whp. IMO the 35R is just better suited on your car.

Your friend could also just use a fully divided T4 manifold and use one of the GT35R T4 setups from A-spec. They do sell a smaller .82 hotside and that would spool faster than you could imagine. Just a thought.

No, there is a dyno sheet floating around in this forum of a GT35RT4 with a 1.00 A/R hotside though. Even with a damaged turbine wheel he was seeing 16psi by about 3700rpm if I remember correctly. The car belongs to Broekn09 on this forum. You might want to check out the A-Spec tuning sub forum for more info. Sean is great about answering questions. And I know he has some more dyno sheets for this turbo that should be posted up soon.
