what are we talking about if it is not air restriction? i understand that we are trying to help, by coming up with ideas as to why the difference in rwhp is. but don't you expect there to be a difference between the two, 1.06 and .82, and thats why they offer them. can someone explain to me if we are not talking about an intake what air filter are we talking about. (again, disclaimer: i'm just trying to learn, no flams here.)

luigi, confused all the time (born that way can't help it)

The big disadvantage with a screen over the inlet is that you'll be using all the hot air in the engine bay.

Just a thought

I agree with this statement. I ran a screen on mine for a bit and my pfc intake temps at crusing on hot days were 52c and above, I did an el cheapo cold air intake with a huge K&N and my intake temps dropped to the mid 30's at cruise. And I feel alot better about having a filter on it too. This is probably only a temporary setup for me but the more I watch the temps the longer I think I will keep it. My 4" T04S inlet lent itself to this type of mod better than most because the piping is 4" standard.
