Greddy T78

What kind of rwhp numbers should an 94 RX7 with a Greddy T78 run with 18psi of boost? What kind of quarter miles times with a good clutch and a good driver? The car has the downpipe,Apexi GT spec exhaust, street port engine, fuel system, front mount and T78 turbo. What is a safe amount of boost to run with this setup on pump gas and at the track. Thanks for any info....

I would say about 450-475 if it's tuned well. Most people are getting around 425 RWHP at 15 PSI with all of the usual mods. You should be able to break into the 11's, 10's with some tricks. You can probably get away with 20 PSI on pump gas. I wouldn't go any higher than that myself.

What ECU are you going to be using? Rampage is good with the Haltech.

looks like a good deal to me you can buy a commander from www.srx7.com they should have it in stock. you are gonna need alot of tuning to get that T78 producing the power you want. www.kdrotary.com has a good amount of experience with powerfc's.

You should get anywhere in the neighborhood of 450-475rwhp with the proper tuning and the right fuel system. I am running the power fc with commander for the T-78 and Dave at KDR has knowledge of the power fc.

Right now I am running only 10psi and will dyno and tune to 18 psi next month. With 10 psi I did 12.8@114mph at Atco Raceway. Because i have no experience at drag and my 60ft times sucks. I can be easily in the mid 12s. At 18psi the car should be in the low 11s all day long and capable of 10s with proper tuning and slicks. For daily driving, I think that 15psi on the T-78 is a good number.
Horspower wise at 10psi you should get about 320rwhp that is with porting and all the neccessary parts like mp,dp,etc... At 15psi, you should get 350-375rwhp and at 18psi you can get anywhere between 450-475rwhp with proper tuning but most people get about 420-430rwhp.

thanks for your reply. the car is dyno-ing at 360 RWHP at 12lbs of boost. it hit 400 at 15psi but the fuel pump couldnt handle it. i need a different fuel pump. after that i think ill run about 14 pounds of boost on the street. thats pretty safe. the engine was also street ported too by the way thats why i think it is running strong. what do you think i should do about the fuel pump. i heard bosch but im not sure which model number would be best. i am looking to run like 18lbs of boost at the most. another thing....should i upgrade my ignition? is this critical or no? thanks

Jeff
