Greddy Profec B spec II

Having hella time setting this thing up for greater than 15psi....

I have HKS 17# spring that opens around 15psi repeatably...I want to run more boost 18-20psi and cant seem to get the boost controller to do it.

set = 190
gain = 15%
set gain (boost start) = 18psi
warning = 20psi
lo = 0

Even with the 20psi warning it still gives me a warning (sometimes) at 14.5psi...and cant seem to boost any higher than 15psi...

Can someone post the profec B spec II settings for 18 - 20psi

Something is missing.

The Spec II has SET, GAIN and START BOOST.

SET, is a duty cycle percentage. That is what determines your boost level. It would not be 190 (19 psi) or whatever. It would be something like 35%.

The duty cycle value isn't accessed through the MODE key, you just turn the SET ****.

Thanks evil..the 190 value is from the SET ****...gain is now 25% and cannot get above 15psi...I have the controller line to the top of the HKS wastegate not the side.

SET **** = 190

Gain = 25%

SET GAIN (start boost) = 190

L = 0

Peak = ON

Yeah I don't get it either.
Three basic parameters to set for WG control SET (Desired boost value), GAIN (responsivness of the solenoid to prevent boost spiking), And SET GAIN (to reach desired boost value quicker by holding WG closed).
Did you change the SET from the solenoid duty cycle to psi? (If so how, I'd love to know)
How do you know/what do you mean by "the WG is opening at 15psi?" It's a 17lbs spring it shouldn't open until 17psi or thereabouts although it WG do tend to crack open a tad early. You will see less than 17psi as boost builds of course but the WG will be closed through pretty much all of this. Turn the Profec off and do some runs on spring pressure alone and see what things look like. The turn it on and start with SET values that just start to produce more values than spring pressure. This will probably be like SET: 40%

The SET GAIN is what I understands holds the WG closed to as close to the SET (desired boost) value as is possible to stop that WG spring from cracking open early.

My values look like this for 14psi (I have a 10lb spring)
SET: 35%
GAIN: 30%
SET GAIN: 12psi
I see a small 0.5 psi spike but this seems to work quite well.

Short of that I'm not sure what else to tell you as your inputs don't seem to make sense.

Crispy

Is the 190 value the displayed vacuum reading or have you actually entered 190 (while the display was flashing) and pressed the set button to achieve a 190 Set value?

The highest possible value on my Profec is 100% for the Set value.

**** turn SET = 95%

Gain = 30%

Set Gain = 15.0

L = 0

Peak = ON

Highest I can get is 15psi on the display....WTF?

What is every body using to control boost to 20psi?
