The turbo that is in crisp's car has a 1.00 hot side.
I think it has to do with the efficiency of the turbo.
- With 2psi more boost, make +30hp, and +40TQ.
- With 5 more PSI, I make +50hp, and +60TQ

I wonder if my small hotside is hurting spool? I do not know, since I do not know what port is on the motor, other than as Steve observed when he was dynoing my car, possibly, no port.... I'll have to check my EGTs, that will give us a clue. I will know this weekend what boost I can run at the track, I am hoping my cooling system can handle 20psi, we shall see. I can't even imagine trying to do all this on street tires. On that note, the Kumho MX is a great choice in that arena, second only to the RT 615 IMHO. Carl

My 20psi dyno has 373TQ@6000(would be exactly where my HP curve is), and 480hp@7000. Maybe my 18 psi pull was suffering from some unknown ill...

not to rehash this arguement again as i want to be finished with it before.. but no we dont have a "special firing rotary".. i think the confusion between us is that we use a Optical pickup where we place a reflective tape on the crank, alt, water pump,etc.. (or any other rotaional device, power steering, alternator, etc..) and you have to synch it to the car by trying different #'s. theres no set # to use as each pulley is different in size, shape, reflection etc.. somtimes you have to put in really odd #'s to sych it. We dont use primary pickups cause we found on rotaries you dont get a clean signal as they pick up noise. ... as said before as long as the dynojet is in synch with the car there should be no problem.

Steve, Like I said, I don't see how you could managed using 720Degrees even withe the optical setup. There's nothing within the rotating assembly that would only provided you one signal for every 2 revolution, even if you use other pullies other than the main (which doesn't make sense to me), there's nothing within the car that I could think of (p/s, a/c, air pump, water pump, alternator) that is twice the size of the main pulley. More power to you that you can use 720 to dyno cars and get accurate #'s.

i fully understand what your saying ... maybe the optical sensor we have is screwed up, the odd thing is that it picks up the tach exactly... hmmm oh well

sounds like you need to contact Dynojet and asked them how it is possible with using 720 on the optical sensor. I never had any issues with using the coil/wire pick up. You just have to know where to get the cleanest signal for the equipment.

You need to learn to let it go....... Having the last word doesn't mean you win......... Our cars are leaving the shop just fine........ None blowing motors........ all making good power....... Dynojet was here for a week straight I think will be fine. Cars leaving sure are Dynojet actually trained us on the equipment if you can believe that one. Kinda silly really cause we were using our neighbors for years already. But hey it comes with the package so why not?? Betchya can't help but respond. That damn last word thing again, gets ya every time.

Good Numbers Chris. We have talked before about the setup that you have and the setup that Im going with. I think that the #'s that I will put out will be pretty close to yours. Now I know what I can look forward to.

Comptech,
That was a very conservative tune don't forget. The boost level, and horsepower/torque numbers will only go up from here on. I would like to have either Steve or Demetrious tune me on racegas at roughly 26psi. Unfortunately though, the FD is on the backburner until I find and buy a house.

That will be great if you get that aggressive of a tune. If you do get Steve to come to you or if you go to him let me know. I would like to see him in action.

On the matter of the house I am in the same boat rite now. Im looking for one as well. Houses just cost way to much.

Johnson II's car was quick. Convinced me to ditch the 35/40 and step up. I did most of the work on it and Steve tuned it.
