^ I heard you need a special v-band to mate to already milled flange on the 42r outlet. I was going to buy the normal 3" v-band for this until I heard the rumor. I'm just waiting for someone to confirm or bust this myth! I should just call Gotham as from this build they would know first hand...

Gotham would be the one to call for sure about the info on the v-band.

Sorry no pics are up yet. It has been a very busy weekend.

I'm no expert, and it's not very clear from the photos, but is there a chance that either of those two pipes are installed backwards? Are they marked to indicate how they are supposed to fit together?

^ Yeah, either that or you have them on the wrong sides... I'm still waiting for a call or pm back from Gotham. That's typical though...

You'll need the al o-ring flange too. Just buy the kit from ATP, that's what I did and it works perfect.

Hyperformance also sells it.

^I emailed ATP and I'm also awaiting their response. Is there another end to that flange where I can weld to or is it just flat and you butt up to it with your tubing? Thanks again Eric!

On that flange, there is a 1 inch lip so that you can weld it to your charge pipe. That's what I did with mine.

I have tried both sides. As for the O-ring they were supposed to send it to me but never did. I just want to drive my car.

I'm really almost thinking of cutting it off and welding a regular v-band flange on there. I'm tired of this jibber jabber...

Well it has been some time since I have posted anything about the project. I am now waiting for my electomotive Tec3R stand alone alonge with my exedy twin plate. The parts should be here by Monday. Im not sure how long it will take me to wire the car since I have never done anything like it ever. Im hoping to have it running in about a week or so. It looks like I will be spending a lot of time in the garage and the internet along with the shop manual.

TEC3r?

what happened to the TECgt? I keep seeing people install that ECU then throw it away...which irritates me because I'm installing one right now

What was the issues?

Azcamel, I think we do have just about the same setup. I also have the stage 3 street port. The only things that I can see that I have different are that I have 1200 and 1600cc injectors and I have the 42R. Maybe yours is also. I also dont have meth injection. I may have to get that later.

As for the TecGT, I was told by a guy a PFS that they stopped using that model because they started to have a lot of problem with it. So I went ahead a bought the better one.

If your shooting for 600+, you should opt for a water inj. kit. It will help with all the heat of the high boost required for your street port to make those power levels. The water inj. will keep the apex seals from warping. It will also act as a displacement adder since it doesn't burn. It also cleans the engine (steam cleans) from the inside out, hense no carbon build up. When pushing over 30psi, you need to know how your engine was clearanced to know if its able. Things start to happend over this threshold, ie...rotors start hitting and side seals can pinch.
Also for the ecu, I had alot of problems with the electromotive unit. I had the Tec3 and not the Tec3R, but the support levels from Electromtoive are horrible. I know have a bastard child of sorts. Im using the electromotive ignition with the AEM ecu. The AEM, btw, has been outstanding thusfar, making almost 800rwhp.
Good luck with your build!
Ernie

Well that sucks to hear that I will probably have troubles with my stand alone. I had not heard a bad thing about the unit. That is why I went with it. If I would have known that earlier I would have gone with the AEM. PFS told me that it was a great unit to go with and they suggested it over the AEM. DAMN IT!

THere's insn't anything wrong with the Tec3R. I was using the Tec3. The unit would reset itself all the time for no apparent rhyme or reason and dumped boat loads of fuel in as a fail safe I suppose, thus making the car run like a ****. Then it would go back to normal. The tec3r is fine, but Electromotive didn't want to do anything for me since I only needed the ecu, not the ignition. SO I said the hell with them. Anyhow Im very pleased with the AEM box, but Im sure you'll be just as happy with the Tec3R.
As far as water inj, Ray is a Aquamist dealer so thats what I went with. I like it because it has a progressive controller.

I sure hope I dont have the same problem with my tec3r. That would drive me crazy and I would end up selling it and going with another unit. Probably the AEM. I am not someone that can take crap like that. Thanks for letting me know that I really do need to get a water injection kit. I will order one rite away. I just got the twin plate today and man is it heavy 327lb. So that leaves the stand alone to get here. I cant wait.

I agree as well. Especially at those power levels.
