got numbers for gt35/40

i know people have been waiting for numbers on this turbo for a while so here it is...car was dynoed at KDRotary on Friday and here are the results...

max horsepower....401.8 @ about 15.5psi...was 1.05bar
max torque...324.5
intake temps were at 102ish

my engine is stock original with 43k on it so no monster ports or anything....our goal was just to break the magical 400rwh mark, although i honestly didn't think we were going to get there, so we stopped there. Now i have heard discussions before about corrected and uncorrected numbers...i don't know what they mean so...

I have have the dyno sheet but, again, i don't know how to size it down so if any one wants to do it for me...

With all the turbo kits coming out, there various names, and my unattentive nature due to the fact that I don't plan on upgrading past the 99 spec turbos or the SR upgrades I have, is this the HKS unit? Twin / single? price?

damn, I could have looked at the forum I was in before posting. I clicked the thread open from the home page that shows active threads and didn't notice....what was the A/F ratios or is Dave going to keep them secret like Peter did with Ryans A/F ratios from him magical 347 at 10 psi?

if i remember them correctly, they were at about 11.5xx on the wideband. Honestly, i don't have a good grasp on the concept of tuning so...people (Dave) tunes, i just drive and hopefully not blow up on the streets.

Haha, yeah 350rwhp @10psi on stock turbos via pfs secret air/fuel and the "magic port".

Good numbers Toy, last dyno I saw with that turbo was around 370rwhp @14psi.

how big is your turbine housing? is it the .82 or the 1.00.

Should be a 1.06 A/R on the turbine.

Excellent numbers! I'm so happy, seriously. Who knows, a good port, some more boost...450 rwhp is possible!

Congratulations. I was there to pick up my FD on Friday; is your car silver with a aftermarket body?
I was told our cars were the same, except for your FMIC vs my PFS SMIC. My results were 303/262 @ 14psi . How does anyone explain this huge difference?

Toy - can we get a complete mod list for your car? I'm expecting my GT35/40 kit in next week and new ported engine in a few more...

BTW: awesome numbers!

PS: Gordon you poke, where are those graphs... I won't sleep tonight till I see them!

Here is my list:

GT35/40 kit (obviously)
Greddy 3 row FMIC
1600cc secondaries, stock primaries
RP fuel pump
Combo of UO and Greddy pullies
Koyo Rad
HKS SS bov
profec b w/ remote switch
kaaz rear w/ 4.33 gear

For some reason, i can't think of anymore...check out this link for some pics. If anyone wants to know what components specifically i am using, ask...that's probably the only way i'm going to remember.

Rallimike,

i think that the fmic makes a whole world of difference compared to a smic when you are sitting in one place and not actually moving. it is able to make more use out of the fan...but i could be wrong.

yeah mine was the silver with the kit...what time did you come on friday? i don't remember seeing you.

Toy has the 1.06 A/R on the hot side....

You have the smaller A/R dont you? that could explain the discrepancy.

Also, I made 370rwhp @ 14lbs with the same turbo and a leaky wastegate on a stockport motor.

Rallimike,
I thought you had the smaller turbine housing.
0.86 vs 1.06 turbine housing will make some difference on the high end power (dyno peak power). The smaller turbine housing will allow faster spool, but it compromises the high end output.

Also, tuning can make a HUGE difference, especially with ignition maps (closely kept to heart by good tuners).
When BDC helped tune my E6K FC a few years ago, reducing some of the trail split timings (maybe a little advancing on the ignition map) helped me net about 60 rwhp (or 70rwhp; been too long and the new owner of my set-up has all my dyno graphs) on the dyno.

Wow! I'm really excited now. I'm going to KD to dyno on Thursday. I was hoping to make 400wrhp @ 15psi, but because you made that on stock ports I should be able to easily top that.

Toy,
I was there about 11:00. Dave had just made a run on your car, with a 330 hp result. He said we had the same setup, except for the FMIC, and that was the reason for the extra 30 hp. I have 1200cc secondaries, stock radiator, and the .82 housing. When I bought the kit, Sean said the .82 good for 600hp, and would spool faster. I had the impression that the difference at 14psi would be small.
My car does run great, and the throttle response is like a normally aspirated car.
Looks like I should have skipped the street port, and spent the money on a FMIC and 1600cc secondaries.

Toy, could you provide a blow by blow (so to speak) analysis of driving with the 1.06A/R? What are the boost characteristics like in say 2nd and 3rd gear? Thanks for the feedback and congrats on the numbers.

rallimike - if you push for > 400rwhp you'll need the larger injectors. 1200cc's might get you to 400, but not much further.

I doubt you'll see much difference on a dyno between SMIC and FMIC, unless you heatsoak the SMIC. You should feel a SIGNIFICANT difference on the road though, I know I did, even with the twins.
