Generation II Copper Header Wrap

Has anyone tried the GENERATION II COPPER HEADER WRAP from thermotec?

http://thermotec.com/products/full/11031/11031.html

Wondering if is as flexible as the fiber wrap, and if any noticeable difference in radiant heat between standard glass and this newer stuff was present? Because it looks pretty stiff from the pics.

Also wondering if anyone has any theory as to why it (I can only assume) has copper in it? Seems counterintuitive to me at the moment?

Has anyone taken a temperature of the external surface of the down pipe with their temp gun they could share?

Anyone have any updates on using the std. Glass stuff?

No one is having a problem using the lower temperature rated brands ~1250- over the thermotecs 2000F rating?

Decent threads on the subject, but not on the differences..

I use the traditional glass thermo-tec wrap on my downpipe and it seems to hold up fine. I imagine the exhaust manifold might be more demanding with temps, butfolks have used it here too, with success.

As to why copper, I can only guess that if you have something expelling in the neighborhood of 2000° you might not be able to "block" all of that heat with fiberglass and might need to conduct a little bit away through the copper.. I'm sure that's complete BS though.. just running my mouth.
