Fuel and ignition
I am new to the RX7 world and I have some questions about the fuel and ignition setups. I bought a 93 R1 that is running a 60 trim single turbo. I know the fuel pump has been replaced with 255 pump. I have 850/17oo injectors. My ignition is stock with aftermarket plugs/wires. What I am wanting to know is how much boost can I run on the stock ignition and how much hp is the 255 pump good for?

ignition and fuel
If I am wanting to turn the boost higher than that what is the best fuel pump and ignition to use. I have heard of people using twin walboros or a supra pump. Is the supra pump a direct drop in or how hard is it to put in? And I have seen a lot of people running the hks dli. What do you recommend?

Just strap another 255 to the one in the tank and run the hks ignition.
We run almost 700rwhp with that ignition and race plugs with no problem.
we have never run one walbro over approx 350rwhp, because that is getting very close to the max of the pump on a rotary in our opinion.

skip all the screwing around fixturing another pump...
buy a Kenne Bell Boost A Pump. (BAP)
unlike running 2 pumps all the time the BAP only works in boost. i have run the BAP on my car for 5 years. Kenne Bell has a great website and has lots of tech re the BAP. $200.
the Cosmo/Supra pump-BAP in my car easily runs 850/1600s to 90% duty cycle set at a 20% voltage gain.
your knock sensor is just a couple of inches above the front trail/top spark plug.
