fuel feed/return line upgrade

I'm wondering is it necessary to upgrade the fuel feed/return lines. HP goals are 520-550ish with PTE6766, water/meth 50/50, 850 prim 2000 secondaries, Aeromotive 340, mild streetport. im just trying to line all my ducks in a row before doing the swap as I have everything to proceed forward. Thanks in advance!

You will have about half a bar pressure loss from pump to rail on the factory lines at that power level.

If you do a search you might still find a link to a PDF of a US magazine article on pump flow testing/lines pressure drop etc.

Im in the middle of doing this now, -8 feed and -6 return should give you some room to grow.

I appreciate all feedback, thanks! Anyone with experience know the actual length of these lines. Guess I'll go ahead and order everything to run these lines.

Why the mismatch on line sizes?

I was thinking of going all -6. As I don't plan on going much further with this build. 550 would be more than enough for spirited driving and maybe a couple times to the strip for some slips. Car will be mainly used for show purposes.

Also Rob, what lengths did you go with?

I ordered 15' of hose for each, I know I will have a little extra.
Using a -8 golan fuel filter post pump and a jay's racing sock on the in-tank bosch 044 for pre-pump
My engine stuff is all set already with KG rails, etc so Im just taking care of fuel tank-regulator side of things now

I hear you on the -6 being sufficient, in hindsight I should have just done the same if power level goes higher than 550 you will most likely go to a dual pump set up and have to revisit the fuel system again.

Stuff starts adding up you got to draw the line somewhere and deal with things as they come.
Im also in the middle of changing all the bushings, mounts, and detailing powdercoating/painting the chassis components=lots of time and money into things that dont INSTANTLY jump out at you when you look at the car
