fuel cut of switch

Hi I'm mick and i just bought a 1988 mazda rx7 turbo 2
It has a fuel cut off switch installed and i know nothing about this and i am wondering if there is a way to make away with it or do all rx7's have them.

It's called a fuel cut defenser . Two options: either make one or buy one. I believe Mazdatrix makes them.

Yeah details would be nice.

A fuel cut switch isn't typically used. Maybe the previous owner didn't wire his pump to the battery correctly (using a relay) so instead he used a switch and had to turn it on when he used the car??

My bet is its for unflooding a either high mileaged low compressing engine, or leaking injectors.
