FPR install help, *pic inside*

Where do I get my vacuum for my new FPR? Also do I remove the FPR on the primary injectors as well? I'm running 550 primary 1680 secondary.

Heres a pic. Theres a black valve thing with vacuum sorce for the stock seconday FPR. Do i use this?

Yeah that's the one that gave the stock FPR the "signal" so use that for your aftermarket one. Also leave the one on the primary.

X...

ok, i just did this so i can help out...

when you replaced the secondary rail, the mushroom thing on the end of that was the FPR... now, i dont know why you pulled that one off in the pic but if that came off the end of the primary rail, its not a pressure regulator, thats your pulsation damperner... depending on which pressure regulator you got, it might have one in there but if you are not sure, just keep it.... i have.. im running 550's and 1650's with a aftermarket rail... i kept it but its debateable on weather or not you need it... also, the vac source for the pressure reg can be from any source as long its after the throttle body (meaning neg boost, or vac.)..... also, one word of advice, use on straight a to b vac line for the FPR and done tee anything onto it. you dont want the boost pressure that is being sent to a 1:1 fpr to go down..... run a dedicated line.. also, the place where most people run it off of is where the stock one is run off of on the LIM nipple but it was hard for me to get to it so i used on that was in the front...

hope that helps!

If you are installing an aftermarket FPR, you can use any sourse after the throttle body for your boost/vac source - you'll find it all depends on where you end up locating the new FPR..

For instance, I installed mine on the front of my intake manifold, and decided to use a vac nipple on the top/side of the UIM..

Regarding the "FPR on the primary injectors:"

That is the fuel pulsation damper. They can get leaky over time and lead to the dreaded underhood fire. Not a bad idea to get rid of it in my estimation.

I emliminated mine using K2RD's elimination kit. Depending on your fuel set-up, you wouldn't necesarily need to use that - you could just tap the fuel rail for a 1/4" to NPT adapter.

No need to use the pressure regulator solenoid with an aftermarket unit - just hook your vac nipple to the UIM straight-away!
