FMIC/Turbo setup
FMIC/Turbo setup
I have a 29x18x2.5 IC and I plan on using a T61 and wondering if I should use a different turbo? im getting some stuff from www.racingbeat.com such as the p-ports, race rotors and such. And anything else I can basically find. im doing this on my 87 TII...I accidently posted this earlier in the 1st gen site and I was told this setup was bad, he suggested I used a 20b....i dont want a 20b, i would have bought one you know? Im going for something unique, this car will be on the road regardless how much HP it has as well. I am not sure how much HP I will have when im done but thats what dynos are for...my goal is low 10's or high 9's though. And I will get there
To get your car to run 9 seconds with full interior then you are gonna need a bigger turbo. Like a T-70 at around 25-30 psi with the periphial ported motor. You are gonna have to make around 600 horsepower at the wheels (maybe more assuming that your weight of the car with the driver will be 3000 lbs). Are you building a drag car or just a freaking fast street car? Even with that amound of HP your tranny wont hold up too well. It seems like you are bulding the turbo system around the intercooler you already have and you should be doing the opposite.
By The Way: since when have 20bs in FC not been unique

Well I want to drag it at meets and stuff, but basically a sickening fast street car is what I want, and what I will have ya know? Sure the 20b in a FC is unique in a way, but its also what everyone suggests is the path to go...im not following tracks in the sand, im making my own as I go :P I will look into those turbo models you suggested. I want the intercooler to play two major roles, looks and performance because this bad boy is going to completely fill the front bumper grill up
And the interior is not going to be completely full, im taking out the rear-crap and will try to scrap on a few things to "break-even" with the weight of a custom system done by yours truly. I dont want to add anyweight, break even at the least. Im not going to be satisfied completely with the car until I get new tires and rims...which wont be for a while actually...trying to make this car stick with the mods im doing is going to be a difficult task
