Flex Section after Downpipe - Questions?
Well project is finally wrapping up and I got access to a digital camera. Is there anything wrong with putting in a flex section into exhaust after downpipe and how will it effect performance and sound. The inside has ridges which I wasnt counting on. Here is the photos:
If anyone has information it would be a great help. By the way you can get 3" flex from http://www.roadraceengineering.com for $60.00 out of stainless if anyone was looking for it.
Thanks

A lot of people get along without one but I don't think its a good thing to do so. If your car is lowered or if the dp sticks out a little and it bottoms out a lot of torque is created at the turbine housing to dp flanges. I didn't have a flex section and bottomed out once and cracked the weld on the flange of the turbine outlet- all the way around.
I have a flex section on both the dp and the wastegate paths. A flex section won't affect performance or sound significantly.
