finally tuned up billet 6765 on pump and race gas.. vids.

got the rx-7 tuned up on both pump/meth and race gas. keep in mind that the dynos in my area read low. the car the way it runs right now will do the 1/4 mile trap at 133mph on pump/meth and 140mph on race gas. i get all my data using a vbox.

so it made 473whp at 23psi on pump/meth and 525whp at 27psi on race gas. i decided to keep the wastegate rerouted rather then open dump. i am losing about 20whp at the very top but i do gain some torque from the reroute gate. i would notice with the open gate a little lag on upshifts. anyway here are my vbox 60-130mph pulls.

pump/meth 23psi 7.34 sec.
race gas 27psi 6.02 sec.

just a little comparison, a lightly modded gtr that runs 10.90s at 130mph flat does the 60-130mph run in 8.0 sec.

i will probably end up dynoing at a place that compares to internet dyno numbers better. should pull 570-580whp on race gas. i did a little video of the ride to the dyno and some pulls on the dyno. also the vbox run which i ended up doing 60-140mph.

did you ever get numbers from a previous setup (different turbo) on this dyno?

yes same dyno i made 450whp at 20psi on a 35r on race gas and ran 11.00 at 132mph. i then dynoed 481whp with the 35r but it was kicked at that point. even raising the boost gave me no more power.

I would have expected more from that turbo at that pressure. What kind of dyno was it and what correction method were they using?

Nice numbers. Everything matches reality. Its really interesting to see that dynojet can give realistic power figures Power increase matches boost increase and Vbox acceleration numbers show us true performance.

Could you share weight of the car as run? Also some graphic data from Vbox would be nice

GTR with switzer p600 kit runs 10.7 at 130mph and 60-130 in 7.05
considering that the GTR has incredibly faster gear shifts and instant torque, thats very impressive

congrats...youre haulin ***!

^ possibly. i went off an older gt-r vbox i seen on 6speedonline. when i did 132mph in the 1/4 my vbox runs were 7.40s. again as you said the shifts do count alot.

great sig line btw. i agree with that 100% as it sums up my lifestyle as well.

divexxtreme always runs crazy fast vbox times. i was going off houstonT gt-r. he has since gone faster then the 8.0 before, here is his run and specs.

7.74 - HoustonT / GT-R / 640 HP (downpipes, y-pipe, BC, hard IC pipes, custom tune)

ok so here is a good comparison to see the performance of my car right now. again these dyno numbers mean nothing that i made dynos are really just tuning tools.

gt-r with p800 kit 100kmh to 200kmh 5.50 sec.
my rx-7 race gas 100 kmh to 200kmh 5.17 sec.

i have not run out to 300kmh which is 186mph as im not sure if i can. i have the jdm short 5th tranny. if anything i will come close i just need to find a stretch of road.

here is the same gt-r racing a hayabusa.

Sounds like it turned out nice! Why not take it to the track and get some real numbers? I guess I need to read up on the v-box thing. You mentioned it to me before.. I am just too scared to go play on the public streets these days. Even with MT et streets tires it still wont hook until 3rd gearish...

i ran it again and did a 5.92 60-130mph.

it was approved by dragtimes.com here is the link

http://www.dragtimes.com/Mazda-RX-7-Timeslip-21941.html

sk8 ill probably go up to the track within the next few weeks to get a few runs in. i have the same issue with the hoosier no full traction until 3rd gear. leaves great patches all the way up the road though.

i have never really posted any of my parts list anywhere i have no problem sharing though.

-built and ported motor by me. port is judge ito based and then extended out to my liking.
-a-spec billet 6765 kit with a 1.00 a/r t4 turbine and ported H cover for fancy sound.
-power fc tuned by me
-850/2000cc injectors
-dual walbro pump and a kenne bell boost a pump
-coolingmist 250psi pump with a c10 injector 800cc running 50/50 meth
-exhaust is 3" all the way back.
-exedy twin disk setup
-3 bar map sensor
-greddy profec s bc
-blitz fmic
-alum radiator

somethings that i could change that would help is move to a 4" exhaust as i have the downpipe re routed and it makes the egt's rise a bit up top in the rpms. possibly would have went with a billet 6768 for the bigger turbine but they do not offer a divided housing. the car is mostly driven on the street so i wanted it to have a nice flat powerband so i went with the 6765. you noticed the billet making more power past 20psi by a good margine. i dynoed 375whp at 18psi and 473 at 23psi. thats really a night and day differance when it comes to boost gain ratio. overall though its a badass street setup.

Car looks to be moving. Love the rolling burnouts. I'm at about 515hp@23psi on a s475. I I know how much fun you are having.

Love the sound of slip in gear with no throttle/clutch kick!

Btw you have blowby problems.

nice results. i am wondering why you didn't run more than 23 psi on pump/meth? I have heard of guys running aroung with 28 pounds on just water. I am not questionong you, just trying to learn.
