Question FC Downpipe dilemma -- advice needed

I don't know if this has been asked quite like this before, but I sure couldn't find anything by searching.... I'm going single on an FC with RE transplant.

I'm wondering if any T4 single turbo manifolds (besides stock FC) come close to bolting up to a "factory style" downpipe for the FC? I guess what I really mean is that I bought the Motoria exhaust which appears to be very similar to the RB exhaust in design. I think the downpipes on both systems are designed to "start" in the stock turbo location (ability to bolt to stock turbo). I'm going single (T4 footprint) on my RE, but I'm trying to figure out if any aftermarket single turbo manifolds place the turbo in a position to basically bolt to a "stock location" downpipe. Obviously my downpipe is not stock, but it should reside in the stock location...

Not sure if that all makes sense or not, but hopefully you see what I'm trying to figure out. Bottom line, if I have a downpipe already, are there any T4 manifolds that would essentially bolt to it (albeit with a flange change or something). Or am I more or less guaranteed to have to fab a custom downpipe?

(Really trying to figure out if I just buy an FC kit that has the turbo, manifold, and downpipe already and just bolt the sucker on). Sorry for the long-winded question...

ive seen some make a connecting pipe from the stock DP to their single turbo on a FC.
looked like utter **** and was ghettorigged, but that was strictly because of the owner lol.
You could try something similar.
I would think just cut the old flange off of the dp and weld a pipe to connect w/ the t04 flange instead of adding another spot for an exhaust leak.

depends on the manifold though

No.

It's easier to just hack your original downpipe off at the flange and then weld another pipe on it to adapt.

Most of the turbos are v-band discharge anyways?

Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking too. I guess the hard part is done in the sense that the 2 bends go in the right place -- just need to extend the top portion. I guess I really better finalize my manifold decision before I get too carried away. Current version has the WG flange hitting the downpipe -- so something's gotta move somewhere...

this is exactly what im doing right now. i just bought a 3" piece of stainless with a couple bends in it. 90/45 .. and im having the shop cut the flange off my stock downpipe, and fabbing it up to the t4 with a v-band.

Well, I bolted everything up again and I think the first thing I need to do is finalize my turbo selection. (New thread I just started). That way I know the size and placement is really where it's going to be and the v-band is the right size, etc.

Once I do that, then I think I need to actually extend the DP in 2 directions. It needs to come up a little higher into the engine bay, so I think extending the "vertical" section between the 2 bends of the DP is necessary by a few inches. Secondly the existing 3 bolt flange needs cut-off and the DP needs extended horizontally to meet the turbo and a v-band flange welded on. I actually bought a bunch of 3" SS pipe a few years back in hopes of building my own exhaust, so that might actually come in handy afterall.

Lastly, I need to cut the HKS WG flange of the manifold and weld the Tial flange on.

It looks like it will all fit nicely now that I've examined everything a bit closer. So I think for the moment I'm on hold until I have my "real" turbo bolted in. Thanks for the input guys -- I appreciate it!

i hacked the flange off of my RB downpipe and added about 6" worth of bends to accept the vband connection on my t4
