Well first of all, all it takes is money to make any car fast as hell on the street or the track. Supras can be built to be damn fast, but their disadvantage is weight. It takes much more power for them to hang with us.

I have a 1987 FC Turbo with about 305 FWHP and 255 RWHP, There is this 55 year old dude that owns the Pizza joint who has a Supra TT but it is totally stock, he does not do upgrades and he never washes the car. Everytime I encounter him he try's to race and I continue to thrash him, at the end of the race I always tell him that I'm stock also, It drives him crazy for such old technology to give him regular whippings.

In general, at whatever level your RX-7 is at, a Supra has to have approx. 100 rwhp more to be competitive.
To say Supra's suck or that they aren't nothing to contend with is rediculous. It's actually easier to get a lot of power out of a Supra than it is a RX-7.

but from a roll, supras are hard to beat because weight does not matter all that much once rolling. that is where their monsterous power comes to play.

I agree that it takes way more RWHP for a Supra to match a 7 but it is really easy to get big HP out of those cars.
My roomate's 94 Supra daily driver hit a 10.9@127 607 RWHP. This is on a STOCK head, STOCK block!!!
He had a HKS T04R kit, VPC, GCC, EVC IV, MP, HKS Hiper, 720cc injectors, fuel pump, Twin Power, and very good dyno tunning. This is all bolt on stuff! No cams or engine internals!
Supras are whales but they are pretty fast whales. I am not saying that a Supra is better nor would I ever own one but damn those things can be fast and VERY reliable!!

I have raced a friends of mine who has the Greddy T-78 with 14.7psi=1 bar of boost but no fuel system and I was at only 10psi and with only 500miles on the rebuilt at a 40 roll I hang with him until 4th gear and he start to pull away from me, so off a roll weight isn't an issue but at the top end, the Supra is a killer. Well at a dead stop I took him of the line all the way through 3th gear but he slowly catched me up. So that come to shows that it doesn't take that much HP for our FD to hang with the Supra like my instance if it were any other cars the Supra would eat it alive and he got like 40+rwhp more than I pump out at the wheels.

The bottom end of the Supra motor is damn near bulletproof. Thats why they are so reliable at around 700 hp. John Durate has a FC with around 520 hp at the wheels. He runs 10s (which will stomp most bpu supras) get your car to around 400 whp and you shouldnt have a problem spanking most cars on the road.

Its kind of funny there is always "HATER'S" everywhere I go. Why don't you try racing SW or Bryce's Supra. I GURANTEE you get your *** handed to you! (No flames intended, I just hate people that talk too much crap!)

True his car IS a dyno queen but I saw a video on the Supra forums showing him racing and BEATING John Hennessey's 800 horsepower twin turbo Viper. Also to answer your question Bryce is not the only beast out there. Among him are SAAD SAAD, SW's Supra, THE WALSER Supra, Mark Tozer, Guillermo Polo, all have at least 800 to 1000 horsepower!! Hope that helps!

I'm around 400 when she wants to run... When you have more than 350 you normaly won't run into much that can hang unless you go out looking for trouble I know some of the I've run into could hand me my *** if I went up against them... but thats life. I've hung w/ a 900RR on the h-way which showed me that I'm a tough opponent. I guess it just takes some $.
