I'm going to play devil's advocate here...

If you're intake temps are THAT LOW right after the compressor outlet, you got some serious issues...

20C at 18psi?
It should be easily over 100C.

Are you missing a "1" before all your numbers???

Could it be possible the IC core was more restrictive?
This would also cause the EGT's to drop like that.

I don't know, I think alot of it is paying for the name a) and b) there are plenty of people out there running this ic with big turbos and they are fine. Look on the second gen section and search for custom fmic or the like and you will see that people use all sorts of these intercoolers with all sorts of differant turbos. Some run them on big turbos others run them on stock but the plain and simple fact is that no one has complained about thier intercooler not cooling enough causing any sort of engine failure. Most of the time they are only complaining about cooling the water/oil temps after the install and others are complaining about the piping comming off due to either a) shity hose clamps or b) no beed rolls. I will be running mine on a t61 with 18-22psi of boost and alky so I guess we will see what happens but to tell you the truth I'm not worried at all.

edit: if anything does happen however and I do find out it's the ic i will be the first one on here saying NOT TO GET THE SSAC INTERCOOLER and to listen to these people on here saying not to get them.

or could it be that it just worked? I don't care what core you get any fmic will be better than the tmic.

Ok I am a little confused here as to how getting IC outlet temps in the upper 20'sCelcius. If you use the conversion equation (1.8 *C)+32=F and you use say 28degC as posted earlier on a 90 degF day you get = (1.8*28)+32= 82.4degF correct? Well if this is true how can your intercooler be putting out colder air than the ambient temprature of 90F? Please clarify.

I'm not saying don't buy it. I'm am saying a IC's functionality has nothing to do with how good it looks or feels. I also don't agree with the "paying for the name". Unless SSAC, or any of the other names it goes under, has some how changed the laws of physics, the core with lower fin density will have less heat rejection. If I take a 12x24x3 Garrett core and put it next to a 12X24x3 SSAC core rest assured the Garrett core will pull more heat out of the charge. I don't care who wants to buy the cheaper core. I just don't want those that do to say there is no reason to buy the better core. With that type of logic there is no reason to mod your car. Sure the cheaper one works better than stock. It wont work better than the quality core, and certainly not if you plan on using it for anything track related.

you get what you pay for up to a certain extent...

so buy a $700 20x8x2" intercooler, or get a $100 24x12x3" that'll pull the same amount of heat out.

i think people need to pay more attention to oil and coolant temps when going with a bar and plate.

btw, i tuned a car with the ebizzle intercooler on it yesterday and it did just as good as the greedy, but the hp was only mid 200's at the wheels. we'll see how well it works when he gets a single.

Well I guess we will see. I have no problem paying more for mechanical stuff like turbo, wastegate, bov, and even though not mechanical a good manifold (even though I have an ssac manifold but that was lack of hks at the time). However an intercooler is an intercooler. yes the greddy might have better heat rejection but actually how much more is the question. are my temps going to be bad enough to cause engine failures due to high intake temps causing detonation............I doubt it. I'll have two oil coolers setup so that my oil temps should be fine as well as a koyo radiator however that has nothing to do with what core you have, everyone that has a large fmic blocking the rad and oil cooler will have that problem.......well on a 2nd gen.

i'll pay as much as it takes to get the results i want, but "name brand" stuff is usually so far overpriced it's rediculous.
