Dynoed my FD

I made some passes on the dyno today : 382 RRHWP & 285 TORQUE @12psi. I was having fuel ( 88% injector duty) issues so I couldnt turn the boost up higher.

Hey Matt,
Great dyno #'s!! It was nice to know that the race port works out afterall. I think you told me on the phone that you made 360rwhp at 10psi of boost? is it right?

Jesus Steve does your 'race port' include a 3rd rotor? Those are great numbers at that boost level.

88% is to high of injector duty???

I see you got 1600cc Secondaries..
What more can you do?? add more ijectors??
OR add another fuel pump??

Does that seem right to everyone? It doesn't seem like he would be out of fuel yet.

Assuming the pump can maintain a fuel pressure gradient of 40psi you should have enough capacity for approximately 480rwhp with those injectors. What kind of fuel pump are you using?

I am using a Nippondenso pump I got from the RX7 store. I am going to maybee hardwire the pump or run two pumps.

You are going to need another pump. My Denso pump was falling off around 400rwhp.

I'm using the ND pump from RX7store... and I agree with radkins. I'm right around 410 rwhp, and I'm seeing the fuel pressure dropping slightly at high rpm/high load. I can "tune around" it by just increasing my injectory duty, but there's no way I'd turn up the boost and make more power without redoing my fuel system.

I was able to squeese nearly 470 out of my ND pump and we quite there. I'm currently arguing with myself over twin ND's or an external.....

Still, very nice numbers Matt. I'm trying to get ahold of some of my other sheets for the lower boost graphs

Got any more specs on your turbo such as exhaust A/R or wheel trim?

All I know is that it is a Turbonetics 62-1, with a .84 exhaust housing.

I assume you know this, but so people don't get the idea that you can safely tune around an inadequate fuel pump. You can't really tune around it, because doing so will make your car run lean when you turn the headlights on, the stereo up, or use the defroster. It makes your fuel map dependent on a certain electrical load. If you expect to lose 5 psi of fuel pressure because the pump isn't up to the task, you might get that most of the time. But if you turn the headlights on, you might lose 7 psi. Or if you hang around and play your stereo for a while with the engine off in front of someone's house, you might be down 15 psi if you boost after you get back on the road. One of the things the fuel pressure regulator does is eliminate the effect that electrical load would otherwise have on fuel delivery. So long as your fuel pump is adequate and can delivery the neccessary flow at the pressure the regulator wants, you can turn your headlights, stereo, defroster, A/C, etc. on and off and it won't change the amount of fuel delivered the engine. The regulator is holding the fuel pressure constant.

Hey Matt,
Is that a 3rd gear pull or 4th gear since it looks too laggy to e 4th gear??

Yeah you are right... good idea to point that out. I don't have A/C or P/S and I never use the radio. I rarely drive a night either.... so my car is usually about the same from day to day. I really should upgrade my fuel delivery capacity to "do it right" but as of now, it's "just get it done" haha. I also have a fuel pressure gauge that I watch as much as I can to be sure that my car is running like usual.

Nice numbers man! What AFR ratio are you running on WOT and whats your ignition settings on 12 psi high rpms? L and T.

I recognise that fuel issue. I to run that fuelpump and ran 100% on my 4*850:s on 14psi. I had 11.2 Volts on my pump, rewired with a nice relay in the back and got 13.8 volts all the time. That made the difference. I then replaced the fuelfilter with few miles for a better flowing one and now my fuel issues are gone. I do think the issue will come back with my new bigger sec. injectors and higher fuel pressure but the kenne bell boost up pump that I will install should make the difference.

That graph was a thrid gear pull. I did do some 4th gear pulls, but at that boost it felt like I was taking along time doing that pull. Also when I was doing the pulls I watched the boost gauge and the boost was surging at .90 bar then down then up etc...... Like the car wanted more boost, alot more. The PFC commander boost was reading .84 bar .

You need to buy a fuel pump so you can crank the boost
