dynamic seal (pics)
My turbo shredded. The nut came loose and went inside the compressor. See here for picture:

So lucky me, the compressor housing was useable. It has a little (I mean very small) scratching on the inside, but nothing enough to really affect the perfomance I need out of it. Anyways, I bought a new TO4B v-trim compressor wheel for it and started re-assembling it when I noticed something wasn't right.
This hybrid has a dynamic compressor seal. The sealing ring is still fine, it's the part that it goes into that's screwed up. The inside is all galled up and won't slide down the turbine shaft properly. I know that when it happened that the compressor wheel had to have free wheeled for a while on the turbine shaft, which is why I ended up replacing the shaft too. Didn't think that it'd damage this seal thing.

So does anyone know where I can get one of these? I've searched around and can't seem to locate the part. Only thing I can get is the seal ring, which doesn't really help now that I already have a few of them.

I've tried calling around. No response yet from GPopShop. I emailed them. Mike Turbo said they have it for $40 plus shipping. Not bad, but I get paid next week, so it'll wait. Maybe I can find something cheaper until then.
Now, here's a thought. I checked the spec on the compressor wheel and found that the center hole is 0.250" in diameter. Well, everyone has a 1/4" drill bit. I'm going to try throwing it in a drill press and centering it up, then drilling out the galled part. We'll see how this goes until I can get a better answer. Not like it's going to hurt the seal anymore than it already is.

Well, that was easier than I thought. The metal is very hard, which makes centering it very easy. It drilled out quite nicely, and re-assembled without a hitch.
