Dual Walbros in tank/parallel for FC RX-7

Hey guys and gals,

I have my dual Walbro 255s setup like so:

IMG_6607.jpg?t=1330290988

I have a turbo 5.3L LS car running 14lbs of boost via a Turbonetics TC76. Fuel pressure is dropping dramatically at WOT (from 60 psi base pressure to 35-40 psi). Running a -6 line up to the factory rails with a Fuelab boost referenced FPR and filter.

Is having the pumps t'd possibly the source of my problem? How do you big power FC guys provide enough fuel using pumps in the factory tank? I'm all for changing it up if it's not ideal.

Thanks for any help/insight you can provide. I know it's not a Rotary but hopefully ya'll can help.

Have you tested each pump independently to make sure ones not dead?

I had a setup similar to yours and was also experiencing the same problem.

Turned out one of the lines attached to the pump frayed. Probably because it was at too much angle or maybe because it was not the right type of line.

Anyway that setup was replaced by a Walbro 485.

Same, not sure if it was because I had chineese copies of the 255's, but it was almost like the check valves weren't working and one pump was burning out.

I also use the part number 267 walbro, (450/485) for e-85, works great.

almost 700whp on one pump.
