DOIHAVEYOURATTENTION?::::which one hot side?::::

I have a TO4E garrett .70 comp. and two ex. housings one is 1.00 secoond is 1.32 . the 1.00 is made of high nickle content and is a thing of beauty. The second 1.32 is cast iron and has a larger flange. which one to have 400 hp. The car is a 85 SE Turbo II conversion with FMIC. I hope to have pics for yoose, but I cant seem to get them on the site. Can someone help with this and tell me how to get the pics from my computer to the web site. I would really like the help. Thanks: J Oliver

I wouldn't say the 1.32 is too big, if you have both I would give both a try. The power band should shift up a bit with the 1.32 but if you are flowing enough exhaust you may pick up some HP over 7000rpm or so.

I still dont understand how a 1.0 can choke a rotary. Im using a 0.84 divided turbine housing with unbeleiveable top end and absolutely no signs of it dropping off. Might I add with a BIG street port. Maybe Im missing something, maybe theres HP to be found above 8K rpms with a bigger A/R???? Can someone please tell me what Im missing???????

I see no point in shifting the powerband up above 7k, but if you like having a torque peak at 5500 and hp peak at 8500 i guess go with the 1.32

I am sure 1.00 A/R would choke a peri port

when you go to post a reply or a new thread. There is a box on the bottom of the screen. It says attachments or something like that.

use that to load the picture.

if you want to go the extra step. Once you have the post with the link to the picture. Copy the link and then edit your post. click image and enter the url.

walahh, theres your picture.

I agree with 1fastT2....

A 1.00 A/R is not going to choke out... I have a .70 comp and 1.00 A/R and it pulls hard up to 6-7k....I gotta tune things better before I hit 8k....

My friend has a 1.32 on a 3 rotor for god sake....When I rebuild this turbo I may go to a 1.15 A/R...

It realy depends on what you are used to and what you want in terms of engine power band, I used a 1.32 and love the characteristics on a P trim turbine. Peak torque @ 6600 to 6900 rpm and peak power @ 7250 to 7600rpm with good power to 8500rpm. This is on a very large street port. (472rwhp @ 19.9psi boost)

I will be using a 1.52 rear housing next or most likley changing to a different series of turbo (with a larger exhaust wheel/housing combination) as I do not want nor care for full boost below 5000rpm anyway, looking for maximum power closer to 8400 to 8600rpm as my usable redline is 9k on my current engine 7 I plan to run allot more boost pressure

I have driven a few 0.96 rear housing single powered rotors and they pull good to 7.5k rpm's peak power tends to happen befroe 7k rpm depending on porting and other acessories. Bit low for a rotary, but if your engine is not race prepared then this may be a good reliability thing Definatley have good mid range puch with such a small rear a/r on a To4.
