So many numbers for a non-turbo expert to crunch. Can somebody enlighten us over here? Perhaps Ron from DaVinci himself?

Did he mention the AF61R turbo comes with a 2 year warranty? This thing is as bullet proof as they come. That's from Garrett.

WOW!! 2 years warranty!! I don't think anybody could beat that? When my gt40 gives up I would get the af61r.

Its the Q trim w/ the big shaft so it should be very durable. It was mentioned somewhere in a thread already that the extra weight of this shaft won't affect spool up much compared to a P trim w/ small shaft since it is so close to center of rotation.
The major diameter has been trimmed down and that is where the weight counts.
As I understand it he trims a Q trim major diameter down to get rid of much of the rear scoop on the turbine blades and make it like an impact style turbine. The two forces in turbine driving are impact and reaction. Rotaries drive the turbine w/ impact, whereas piston motors drive more with reaction.

Yes and no, if the Q trim major diameter was reduced to the same as a P trim major diameter it would flow better than the p trim.
A turbo with good response and ~400RWHP on a 13B is probably going to be P trim normally, right.
If the trimmed Q trim is able to be made to perform like an impact turbine of P trim size it will have both better response and top end on a rotary compared to a standard P trim.

I am not seeing any real difference here as far as small Q trim versus GT turbines, Who knows how well they will perform up top.Time will tell. These are both very similar sized turbo's one is BB one is not. I haven't been in a AF61R powered car. But I will say it would need to respond better than the stock twins to beat the response broken09's car has. The turbo is literally connected to your right foot. It's that transient response that makes the turbo shine.

I really like the numbers from this kit, however, something seems fishy. A turbo kit for $2,200 installed? That just does not even seem right. There is something going on I do not know about.

I've told Ron to charge more but he can't stand to jack people off.

When he bought them out, he should have called it reacharound motorworks.
