Hi, im from Argentina, new on the rotary world, here´s the deal, im planning to go Single turbo soon, i have a recently rebuild engine, bone stock, looking for a turbocharger that i can buy here in argentina i talked with the Holset dealer for my country and they can build me a custom turbo for a very good price, is going to be journal bearing but i can choose any size of compressor and exhaust...

here´s the deal, if you have this oportunity of building a custom turbo for a Stock 13B-REW engine, wich size you choose? im looking for 400Whp and the car is used mostly for Street and Track days

Mr. White, what type of track days? 1/4 mile, time attack, Gymkhana, or drift.

this will determine where you want your power band to be, and from there you can decide what compressor size and trim, housing A/R, exhaust wheel size and trim, as well as exhaust housing A/R. you need to acheive that power band.

cheers

400 hp is 768 cubic feet per minute is 53 pounds per minute of airflow.

i don't know specifics on Holset but if your guy can get you something resembling Garrett compressor wheel sizing you are looking for:

GT3076 will do 52-55 pounds at 25 psi and 48 pounds at one bar
the wheel is 57mm by 76.2 and is a 56 trim

GT3582r will do 62-65 pounds at 22 psi and 56 at one bar
the compressor wheel is 61.4 by 82 and is a 56 Trim

on the hotside just put a P trim wheel in it
64.56 by 74.16

use a hot side A/R around 1 although i have no idea if that relates to Garrett. they key is for it to be 30% larger than the similar piston application.

good luck,

howard
