custom belly pan

I just installed a new rad and IC and the stock belly pan will not fit back on. I am wondering what others have done about this issue. How important is the belly pan for directing air to the rad?

Thanks for any help

The best way is to create a new pan out of alluminum or sheet metal, with proper support, that blocks off the entire engine bay except for where you want air to flow out.

the bellypan is an important component as to cooling. i recommend you spend some serious think-time refixturing it so air goes thru your water radiator and not around it.

good luck

When I get the car back I will see what I can fabricate. My temps stayed between 84C amd 86C without the belly pan on but I was staying under 4psi and under 5000rpm during the break in period. I have a fmic so I am concerned with temps once I start getting on the boost.
Thanks again for the help

I'm working on a belly pan now. I'll be finishing the design hopefully in the next couple of weeks and then routing it at work once I get the shape. If I get enough interest I may produce more of them.

I'd like to get price down in the range of 200 but it depends also on what type and thickness aluminum I use. I will be able to get different types and thicknesses from the supplier down the road it's just a matter of how much you want to pay as well. Hopefully with enough interest I could buy a few sheets at one time as well and save some money that way. I will post pics when mine is complete.
