Coolant System

Introductory Waffle
My FD3S2 has a Turbonetics T72 fitted, built by a builder here in the UK.

The owner who had the work done described it as 'a completed project', something of an overstatement given the number of things that needed doing to the car. I think he just ran out of money before selling her to fund his next idea.

IMO the engine installation has a few minor things that I'm unsure of or need tidying up. The main one is the cooling system, which leads me to the issue below . . . . . . .

My Question
The engine coolant system uses a Greddy Front Mount Intercooler and a Mishimoto Racing Radiator, the air separation tank and coolant overflow reservoir have been deleted and the central tank (whatever it's called, my memory's failing me) fitted with a spring cap and tube that dumps overboard. See pic below.
The work looks a bodge.
Is this OK or should I improve it?
Would a tank such as Revoultion Radiator Outlet Tank FD3S 13B - RHDJapan do, and what I need to have with it?

Thanks for any help.

The overflow tank is a safety item to keep the radiator full and also acts as a small excess storage tank in case of a small coolant leak.

I would definitely install one.

Thanks. That confirms my suspicions. Now to find a design . . .

The overflow tank also helps keep the streets/track clean for when your car overheats or has more pressure than the cap is set to hold (1bar ish). The AST delete is extremely common but not running ANY sort of overflow tank is bad news. Whats in the way of the stock location?

Thanks. I'm now looking at replicating the stock system with better quality items. There are quite a few swirl and reservoir tanks on the market so I'm looking for ones that best fit the bill.

Someone here in the UK is selling a replacement outlet tank:

I don't know if this will will help cooling or is just a nice shiny replacement for the stock outlet tank.
