Controlling boost with stock solonoid

Ok. Just wanted to run something by the minds here.

I have a PowerFC and an FD for reference.

You can control the boost in stock sequential form VIA the PFC and stock solonoid. You can also set the PFC to run non-seq and still control the boost.

My question is... can I run the stock solenoid with a single turbo and external wastegate and still retain the boost control feature?

Run the hose from the wastegate TO the solenoid and then to the manifold, and keep the boost control function through the commander?

The reason I ask, is I have a minty solenoid and the Apex'i boost control kit is pricy for me right now. I would like to keep most of my functions in the same place (PFC) to eliminate clutter in my car. If it will work with no issues I would like to try it out, however if it's been tried before and people ran into issues I would rather not risk it.

But after doing a bit of reading it SEEMS like it should work without any issues?
