Coil-on-Plug Ignitions
First, as to the appropriateness of the placement of this thread, since gains from ignition setups are mostly related to the high HP cars, this forum is the best place to ask.
Now, the question is, who has tried a coil-on-plug style ignition? What were the results? What type of system did you use? Is it available "off the shelf"? In short, give us the skinny!

Yeah, I saw that right after I started this. I didn't see anyone post with any first-hand experience there or any technical information. I know the general reasons pro and con, but was looking for first-hand experience in here.

I've got coil on plug ignition coils......the same one's Jason has. They are a bitch to find and are quite expensive! You have to upgrade the ignition at the same time with 2 MSD boxes. It's not for the faint of heart.....or shallow pockets. It'll set you back in parts alone almost $1k. Then you need to get it all installed and fab up a bracket to mount them together so they don't move. It's a pain in the *** but it should be well worth it I'll let you guys know soon after i get it all together and on the dyno.

i think jason (AEM jason) said he was using a bosch COP set-up from a suburu SVX
it's in that long thread about the AEM ecu's from last year. i have pics of his coil set-up if you guys are interested, but i have no first hand experience with them
heres a engine bay pic, no MSD's.....

i did this mod over a year ago on my street car and it worked fantastic!! i used the Supra coils and fabbed up a bracket to bolt them on, th only issue was that they come extremely close to the steering shaft. i used two MSD 6a's on the leading only and left the trailing alone! if the supras can make unlimited power with them w/o ANy ignition upgrades technically you should need no further amplification!
