Clutch set for GT35/40 turbo?

I am working on building up my drivetrain for my new engine and GT35/40 turbo. My goal is about 450 rwhp. Will a Clutchmaster stage 3 w/ kevlar disc work? Also looking on at maybe the stage 4, but not sure about a 4 puck disk even though it is a sprung hub. Also thinking about getting lightened flywheel. Looking for something somewhat streetable, but doesn't need to be completely streetable. Tried searching but found little results.

lightened aluminum flywheel and 4-puck clutch equals great fun when driving on the street, especially in traffic. Your calves should get a great workout!

I ran a 6-puck ACT Extreme clutch in my FC awhile back. It felt great when you wanted to punch it, but it really sucked when I got stuck in traffic.

I like the flywheels with removeable discs (like SR's flywheels). If you plan to drag your car a lot, you may want to think about keeping the stock flywheel since the lightened flywheel will reduce centrifugal force (less mass).

You'll probably burn through your clutch discs before a flywheel or pressure plate. ACT makes great clutches (street/strip and extreme), I've only used ACT (as well as my friends) and I haven't heard any complaints (ranging from 60-1 T04 set-up to T66 and GT35/40 set-ups).

I think you'll be happy with the ACT set-up and stock flywheel.

Now that you are putting down 400rwhp I wonder how that ACT s/s clutch is going to hold up. I've got the same clutch and am shooting for 450rwhp @ 16psi for street use, 500rwhp @ 20+psi & race gas with a Pineapple engine & GT35/40 setup.

I was worried about the same thing since I just got my motor rebuilt, GT35/40 so since everything is apart now I just went ahead and got the ACT 6 puck, Kaaz LSD, and chromoly axles. That is what Ari recommended anyways.

Sounds like ACT is most popular. I think that might be my best bet. Does anyone know what the s/s disc and the extreme pres plate are rated for as far as HP and tq.?

os gekin twin plate is the best for drivability and draging. can hold up to 800hp.

sokudo,

That's overkill! Not everyone on this forum with an FD has that kind of cash to burn.

It's definitely a nice clutch set-up though
