Can a turbo be rebuilt with larger compressor?
So I've been kicking around my upgrade options for my tiny XS Engineering T04S.
Im 100% drag, but the 4k$ option of the gt42's is not currently in my buget-
The t4 manifold I have is holding up, so in a perfect world id like to just upgrade the compressor side on my current turbo
Its the XS Engineering T04S
with a 1.15 hot side
compressor seems to be a mystery but I hear is a 60-1wheel but with a 4 inch inlet P-trim .70a/r?
when majestic rebuit it years ago he told me it was a stage 3 wheel- whatever that means
Would it be more advisable to replace the turbo as a whole (something t4 flange but with more flow) or is upgrading the compressor wheel/housing more fea$able so i can get more out of the turbo for less dollars
fuel is 2 walboros 255- 850/1600, sx regulator, haltech e6k, fuel is c16 (for now)
So..... what if any are my options

I upgraded my T04E 57 trim T4 turbo to a 35R compressor wheel. All I did was buy a 2nd turbo with the right compressor wheel, used the backplate, compressor wheel and compressor cover, sent the CHRA and wheels out to be balanced, and re-assembled. Worked great, although you'd have to find a whole turbo with a larger compressor wheel for a good price.
But, with the leftover parts you can put the turbo back together and sell it on e-bay. As long as you stay within the Garret type T4 frame turbos, everything should bolt up (i.e. backplate onto CHRA, compressor wheel onto turbine wheel/shaft)

I happen to have the same turbo system and I hated open wastegate so I start looking at other downpipe but those are V-band type where xs is bolt flange, since u fab ur own, I guess u have resources to the work? Any idea on how i can make a down pipe that fit the xs hot side and get my wastgate re-routed to the downpipe?
Thanks,
Khris

2 45 deg 304 bends form burns stainless,
i think i used a jbend and a 90 in the wg tubing size and routed back into dp, but I got boost creep and dumped back to atmosphere
