can someone refresh my memory please

why are ball bearing turbos considered by a lot of people to be better than regular whatever turbos. i knew the answer to this but forgot and it's pissing me off. thanks guys

i always thought bb turbos werent the best idea due to the extreme heat put out from a rotary?
am i wrong?
right?

i just remember reading some where that garrett are making a more-rotary-friendly bb turbo...

No, they were primarily designed to combat compressor surge...
Turbnetics has this in their catalog.
There are SAE papers on BB center turbos also available.
