if I can't find anything for it would it be alright to weld a common style v-band to the end of it?

Call them and tell them what you have. They'll set you up.

I ordered one shortly after that first post and welded up a downpipe..I have been running with it leaking for 2 months and it is getting louder. It is kind of thin metal and it is tightened to its max, which didn't require much torque (didn't get any harder to turn the nut at the end). Is there some sort of donut or seal that is used with the 20 degree v-band? no matter how many times I re-install it (doesn't seem to self-center very well like ordinary v-band flanges) it leaks out somewhere.
