Buying a single turbo rx7..need help
Can anyone offer any help to me? Im looking into buying a single turbo 2nd gen rx7 right now to replace my 72 chevelle i gave to my step dad. What do i look for when inspecting a car? whats normal during a test drive, etc? What are stock specs on these cars? What about mpg? Thanks for helping me out! TIA

MPG on the Turbo II sux! But its still worth the buy. I ran a 14.92 in my 87 completely stock. Once you get Full exhaust and intake then the difference is very noticeable. Make sure the car stays cool. let it idle for a little while and check the engine temp. During a test drive the car should run very smooth. The 87-88 Turbo FCs make about 170 HP and the 89-91 make arounf 195 hp. Look for coolant leaks and oil leaks around the oil cooler. Its basically like a normal car inspection but look around for leaks. Test the compression before you buy the car.

I usually get 14-15 MPG with my normal mixed of city and highway driving... I can get up to 21 MPG on the highway on a long trip where I just cruise.
