buy a brand new engine or get a streetport rebuild?

ok i am debating on where to get my engine. i want something that is going to last. i am thinking of just buying a brand new motor from mazda. i would like to get a streetported engine, but it just seems like its hit or miss where ever you go. i am looking to make 400whp on pump gas. turbo will most likly be a 61 or a little bigger. just need to get an engine squared away. i am just looking for some members experiences/advice with engine builders. thanks in advance.

My thought would be unless I have a shop within driving distance your better off with the stock motor. If there is a problem and if you could not deal with with it in person it could be a pain in the ***.

mazda engines are not brand new. they are rebuilds with used part content, just like everyone else. Any engine sold for <$4000 is NOT all new.

We are doing an extended large streetport with a gt40r, we will be dyno it in a week. We are expecting 450-470 at 16-17lbs of boost, we will post the dyno results soon. If you have any questions give us a call 614-771-8966 www.rx7store.net
