Braided fuel line, how do they do it?

Im refering to some of the setups I've seen with injectors and fuel line with a custom fuel rail.

How do they have it so the braided line goes directly into the injector and the fuel rail is not used to hold it in?

Do they tap the end of the injector and just screw on the line? What holds the injector in the manifold without the fuel rail?

here is a pic of exactly what I mean, this was posted here a couple months ago, nice setup, but the questions above are immediatly asked after viewing:

are you sure that isnt nitrous? i mean i see secondary injectors and not sure if its wise to block off the primary and run all those past the secondary injectors?

it aint nitrous, you can see the electrical connectors on the injectors.

It's mostly an AIC set-up.
Look at the fuel injector holder?
See the screws?
GReddy sells these things, and there's a rubber liner in there that the screws secure the flange down to.
It's a squeeze fit, so the more you tighten the screws, the tighter it gets.
The rubber liner makes it air-tight.

It's a compression fitting on top of the fuel injectors.
Screw it in, and it tightens to a leak-free seal.

See above.

What holds the injector in the manifold without the fuel rail?
See previous reply.

Im not an idiot, but I need a picture of this 'compression' fitting for the end of the injector. I understand how it fits onto the manifold with the compression fitting, but how do they get a smaller ring onto the top portion of the injector?

eh, that might sound terribly confusing, any links to a site with pics of how this is accomplished and then i'll just shut the hell up and be happy to know how its done

thank you ted.

The top is not compression its a drilled boss with a slot for clip to go through with an AN fitting on the top, on the inlet of the injecotr, the slots in the side of the injecotr is where they clip through.. They work pretty good, the only problem with that style of fuel feed as oppposed to a flow through rail, is you don't get a the vapour purging until the injectors actually come on line, when used as a supplementry injector, on systems where the main injectors run like that from the second the engine is started, it works pretty good...Since that has access to a tig and rail, I don't why he just didn't rail it to begin with...Max

That looks like an old-school 4-additional injector setup for years back that the Japanese do / used to do. Used to be used with additional injector controllers; usually those four injectors are 550's from what I know.

looks like someone just wanted to spend extra $$ on AN fittings if you ask me.

yeah, it is alot of money sitting there in fittings...
And yeah BDC that is the typical jspec setup, lots of manifolds modded like that show up on the auctions, they either weld them in there, or the throttlebody adapter.. 1600 cc injectors arent very common over there, so people almost always use a ton of AI's instead..max

To illustrate what you're talking about, something like this:
