BOV stayed open during easy driving

Anyone out there using a stock BOV w/ your single setup? I get away w/ stock BOV because I am only running 14psi on the RX6.

Here is my question, I thought the BOV does either quick vent and shut action (pissssss or whooossshhh). The sound I got from my stock BOV makes me believe it stays open while the gas padal is only half way in (not doing accelaration nor deccelation). The sound is like someone is cleaning their throat, it doesn't go away unless I let off the gas or add more gas.

Is there something wrong with BOV stayed open? Do I need to get an after market one to fix this?

Thanks.

I would definately get an aftermarket BOV if you're running 14psi, just to be safe.

i had an DSM bov for a wile, and it would stay open pretty much all the time. even at idle. It was really messing with the engine. I got a Apexi BOV and it made a world of difference, car starts eazier, idles better, and doesn't bog down wile driving.

Thanks guys, I've decided to get an aftermarket one just be done with it. From what I learned, stock BOV stay opens until there's boost. So if anyone is venting the stock BOV, it's recommanded to put a little filter so dirty air don't get sucked in. Cheers.
